Overview

Position summary statement:

The Scientist, Document Control validates raw material specifications meet Herbalife Nutrition and regulatory standards. Collaborate with teams for timely raw material change approvals. This offers an outstanding chance to pioneer nutrition innovation and enhance product quality and compliance!

Detailed responsibilities/duties:

  • Conduct a technical assessment of raw material documents to verify suitability for Inner and/or Outer Nutrition.
  • Collaborate and offer mentorship to Document Sourcing (Corporate and Regional) teams concerning queries associated with raw material specifications, documentation, and Agile procedures.
  • Formulate, evaluate, and adjust raw material specifications in an Agile context following existing requirements and regulations through collaboration with Research and Development (Tech Ops, Formulation), Global Regulatory Affairs and Product Compliance (Corporate and Regional), Quality Control (QC), Product Science, and Transportation teams.
  • Route raw material change requests and change orders in Agile, securing timely approvals from various departments.
  • Assess raw materials used in new formulas or formula revisions, ensuring that the raw materials and suppliers meet the standards for contract manufacturers.
  • Communicate with Global Regulatory Affairs and Product Compliance (Corporate and Regional) regarding specific country testing requirements, as necessary.
  • Address problems concerning raw material specifications through cooperation with raw material suppliers or contract manufacturers.
  • Support and offer mentorship to the Document Sourcing team.
  • Notify contract manufacturers of any modifications in raw material specifications.
  • Keep detailed records regarding raw materials.
  • Perform other responsibilities as assigned.

Required qualifications:

Skills:

  • Fundamental understanding of raw material documents and processes.
  • High degree of attention to detail for identifying document acceptability.
  • Driven to deliver results and demonstrate a track record of meeting objectives.
  • Strong customer service and relationship management skills.
  • Strong written and verbal communication abilities to facilitate productive teamwork across diverse departments.
  • Strong analytical skills for accomplishing changes.
  • Outstanding planning and interpersonal abilities to manage multiple tasks.
  • Proficiency in Microsoft Office.
  • Great teammate with flexibility and adaptability to changes.

Experience:

  • 4-5 years of experience in Quality Assurance or Quality Control within an FDA regulated sector (21-CFR- Food, Dietary Supplement, or Drug).
  • Previous experience conducting laboratory tests in the Food, Dietary Supplement, Pharmaceutical, or Environmental sectors.

Education:

  • Bachelor’s degree in a scientific field or equivalent experience.
