About the role:
The Principal is a subject matter expert role, responsible for providing thought leadership for Distributor Initiatives. This role is responsible for providing business insights and support decision making related to Distributor Initiatives including promotions. Specializing in the analytics and interpretation of data to provide insights to support distributor focused activities across the business. Interacting with partners across the business and providing guidance and mentorship to subject matter experts and analysts across the region.
In this role you will:
- Deliver advanced analysis and insights to support distributor-focused initiatives, promotions, and activities.
- Build and maintain analytical reports and dashboards using Power BI, Excel, and other tools.
- Optimise reporting processes for quality, timeliness, and business relevance; identify opportunities for automation.
- Create complex data models and simulate “What-If” scenarios to evaluate the impact of promotional activities.
- Collaborate across functions to define data requirements and ensure alignment with business goals.
- Present insights in a clear and actionable format using charts, graphs, presentations, and visual storytelling.
- Lead and manage multiple analytics projects concurrently in a fast-paced, cross-functional environment.
- Provide mentorship and guidance to junior analysts on assigned projects.
- Ensure accuracy, completeness, and integrity of all data outputs.
- Support the continuous improvement of reporting methodologies and share best practices across teams.
- Contribute to broader department goals through additional duties as assigned.
Our requirements:
- Minimum 5+ years of experience in business analysis, data modelling, statistical analysis, or CRM/data mining.
- Proven ability to manage complex analytics projects and work with multiple stakeholders.
- Strong technical experience with Power BI, MicroStrategy, SQL, and Excel (including macros, pivot tables, v-lookups, VBA).
- Knowledge of Python is a plus.
- High attention to detail and a strong background in data validation and quality assurance.
- Excellent problem-solving skills and the ability to interpret data in a commercial context.
- Strong written and verbal communication skills, with experience presenting insights to both technical and non-technical audiences.
- Collaborative approach with the ability to build relationships across different teams, countries, and cultures.
- Self-motivated, organised, and comfortable managing multiple priorities under tight deadlines.
- BA/BS degree in Business, Economics, Finance, Statistics, Actuarial Science, or a related field.
- Candidates without a degree may be considered with an additional 4 years of relevant work experience.
