Position summary statement:
Chemist II role: apply chemistry expertise in developing nutritional products, leading quality assurance.
Detailed responsibilities/duties:
- Conduct laboratory experiments to analyze both qualitative and quantitative chemical and physical properties of raw materials, finished products, and stability samples.
- Review laboratory testing results with attention to detail, ensuring accuracy under supervision.
- Interpret test results, compare them with established standards, and verify data trends to maintain consistency and quality.
- Author and refine chemical analysis procedures for integration into our test methods.
- Provide mentorship and training to junior chemists, encouraging a collaborative and informative environment.
- Maintain a safe, clean, and efficient laboratory workspace, adhering strictly to safety protocols.
- Prepare standards and reagents, and calibrate sophisticated laboratory instruments such as HPLC, FTIR, and UV-Visible spectrophotometers.
- Review product certificates of analysis for accuracy, maintain files, and ensure compliance with standards.
- Coordinate and track calibration and preventive maintenance schedules, performing routine verifications of lab equipment and instrumentation.
- Carry out individual probes, tackle Out of Specifications (OOS), rectify discrepancies, and enforce Corrective and Preventive Actions (CAPA) with minimal supervision.
- Troubleshoot laboratory equipment, instrumentation, and methods to ensure flawless operation.
- Demonstrate a solid understanding of current Good Manufacturing Practices (cGMP) and Good Documentation Practices (GDP), ensuring compliance in all documentation and processes.
- Assist in audit and compliance programs as needed, contributing to our goal of maintaining world-class standards.

Experience:
- 5-7 years of experience in an analytical laboratory specializing in qualitative and quantitative analyses.
- Experience with wet chemical and instrumental analyses such as FTIR, HPLC, GC, and UV-Visible spectrophotometry.
- In-depth knowledge of cGMP guidelines.
- Experience in ISO 17025 accredited food testing labs, FSSA(I) certified Food Analyst (Preferred).
- Experience in the nutraceutical or pharmaceutical laboratory field.
Education:
- Bachelor of Science in Chemistry, Biochemistry, or similar scientific areas.
Preferred qualifications:
- Solid knowledge of LC/MS and GC/MS.
- Prior experience with cGMP regulation and compliance.
- Experience in nutraceutical or pharmaceutical labs.
- Expertise in ISO17025 Lab Management.
- Master of Science in Chemistry, Biochemistry, or a similar scientific field.
