About the role
The Finance Manager (Chief Accountant) leads the local Finance team in Ukraine and is responsible for accounting, tax, statutory reporting and compliance (US GAAP & local GAAP). The role ensures full compliance with local regulations and corporate policies (including SOX) and acts as a key finance partner to the Country Director and business teams.

 

Key Responsibilities

  • Lead accounting, tax, treasury and statutory reporting for Ukraine in line with US GAAP and local requirements
  • Ensure accurate and timely financial statements, tax filings and statutory reports
  • Manage relationships with external auditors, tax advisors and internal audit
  • Ensure compliance with corporate finance policies, internal controls and SOX
  • Meet all Corporate / Regional reporting deadlines
  • Oversee inventory accounting and controls
  • Work closely with tax advisors, internal and external auditors, banks and other key stakeholders
  • Partner closely with the Country Director on financial objectives and business support

Other Financial & Internal Control Responsibilities

  • Ensure compliance with SOX, corporate finance policies and internal control standards
  • Support regional finance, audits and ad-hoc finance projects

People Management

  • Lead and develop the Ukraine Finance team (2 Senior Accountants, 4 Accountants)
  • Monitor performance, provide coaching, conduct appraisals and support recruitment and development

Skills & Experience

  • Degree in Finance, Accounting, Economics or equivalent experience
  • 7–10 years of managerial experience in Finance/Accounting within an international environment
  • Strong knowledge of local GAAP, US GAAP and local tax regulations
  • Experience with ERP systems (Oracle is a plus) and strong Excel skills
  • Fluent English
  • Strong leadership, communication and stakeholder management skills
