POSITION SUMMARY STATEMENT:
Technical Specialist – Principal Applications Analyst I, is a versatile and highly motivated individual who would be responsible for leading the definition, design and building of technology solutions in support of the business requirements. The individual liaises with business teams, development, QA, Dev Ops and end users on the functional requirements definition, design, implementation and maintenance of software systems and will often manage multiple complex projects that require input from across functions. The candidate is expected to have strong experience in the implementation of both custom solutions and packaged/ERP solutions such as Oracle, Microsoft, Salesforce. The candidate should have experience leading project delivery for large scale, global implementations and should be willing to take accountability and ownership of end to end project delivery leading to successful implementations.
DETAILED RESPONSIBILITIES/DUTIES:
- Very good understanding of applications, business processes, system integration points, data integration points and ability to analyze requirements in-depth to achieve the business outcome in the most optimal way.
- Manage multiple complex projects that require coordination between development, QA and product team using Agile methodologies including SCRUM, Kanban, Scaled Agile etc. as required
- Ability to handle custom in-house built applications and packaged solutions such as Oracle, Microsoft and Salesforce solutions.
- Serves as a mentor, subject-matter expert, and provide recommendations to technical teams to build well-designed, fast performing systems with seamless user experience
- Functional expertise of the systems supported and the development of a framework for system implementation and maintenance.
- Work with program management office and business relationship managers to understand scope, priorities and budget to execute projects and maintenance of systems.
- Verification of the feasibility of requested functionality and validation of support for business rules based on existing technical systems and data structures.

- The ability to interview various non-technical managers to understand complex, dynamic business rules/processes and then create detailed requirements documentation.
REQUIRED QUALIFICATIONS:
Skills:
- Demonstrated ability to achieve results under limited supervision
- Strong analytical skills and the ability to analyze complex multi-tiered application implementations and data structures
- Ability to effectively manage multiple, competing, high-priority projects with varying deadlines
- Strong written and verbal communication skills, with a demonstrated ability to communicate effectively with all levels of an organization
- Very good understanding of the technical aspects of application development and design in one or more of the following areas - Java, .NET, JavaScript application frameworks, understanding of database concepts and basic expertise in SQL and/or related technologies such as Microsoft SQL Server or Oracle PLSQL, HTML5, XML technologies
- Experience working on packaged applications such as Oracle/Salesforce/Microsoft or similar and customizing them to the organizational needs as per business processes
- Knowledge of Project and Software Development Life Cycle methodologies, including Agile, Kanban, Lean, Waterfall, Scaled Agile frameworks, PMBOK, etc.
- Thorough knowledge of information systems concepts and terminology
- Strong work ethic with an emphasis on service and quality
- Strong interpersonal and conflict resolution skills.
- Ability to interact effectively with individuals from different countries and cultures, with a sensitivity to cultural diversity
- Experience with Microsoft Office Word, Excel, PowerPoint & Visio
- Ability to travel domestically and internationally 10-20% of the time.
Experience:
- 6+ years demonstrated experience in the Technology/IT industry.
- 6+ years demonstrated experience with business application/business analysis on an enterprise wide system.
- Understanding of enterprise and consumer technology concepts including client/server languages and architectures, ERP systems, CRM, SCM, cloud architectures, web and mobile application development, transactional and non-transactional database concepts, etc.
- Experience with Microsoft Office Word, Excel, PowerPoint & Visio
- 3+ years’ experience working with packaged applications such as Oracle or Microsoft or Salesforce or similar
- 2+ years’ experience with complex, multi-national application implementations
- Must have Project Delivery lead experience and ability to lead and mentor junior team members.
Education:
- Bachelor’s degree in Computer Science, Information Technology or related field
PREFERRED QUALIFICATIONS:
- 5+ years project management and/or product management experience
